Life without Friends

Life has changed a lot since College. Now instead of attending lectures, I have to attend boring meetings, instead of copying assignments and tutorials I have to copy & paste scheme formats of the company, instead of downloading movies and games from the internet I have to download reports and Powerpoint presentations, instead of spending my days with friends, I have to spend days with professionals. So things have changed a lot for me from past some time. Every day my day starts with "Have to go office again" expression and ends up with "Tomorrow again ". An office is a place where everybody talks a lot but does very less, People make plans to achieve targets on papers, but when it comes to achieving, the Planning suddenly fails. A lot of people told me that office is a place to learn lessons of life but I strongly believe that office is a place which cuts your personal life short and kills all your good time that you can spend with your friends or loved ones.

I remember my days at college when I have nothing to do with ethics and all I was concerned with, was spending quality time with friends(in the canteen, in the hostel, in Haldwani). Life was way more happening at that time because of friends, friends with whom I was original, unlike now where I have to pretend as an educated and ethical executive. At that time there was no one to interrupt me in my activities but in Corporates, your decisions are to be taken by a person called  "BOSS".

BOSS: -  A creature which is always ready to hunt you down if you go against his decisions. One who will never do anything of its own but expects everything from you. One who is least bothered about life and more bothered about the Sales figure and Sales Meetings. 

At this stage I am missing my friends more than anything, every day I want to be with them and enjoy all those things which I have missed because of their absence. Every time I see a group of friends giggling on road I do miss my friends, every time I see a group of people watching a single TV I do miss my hostel's TV set, every time I see a group of friends gossiping at a food court I do miss my group and my college canteen, every time I see 2-3 guys following a girl I do miss my friends, when I see young guys drinking Beers and smoking cigarettes in style I do miss my friends. At that time I haven't had much money for friends but had time for them and we enjoyed a lot. But now I have a share of my salary for my friends but no time to spend with them. In old times I always believed that if I had more money I can make my friends feel better but now I realize that when you are with friends all you need is time, which is much more worthy than money.

This corporate life hurts our personal and social life, today I have friends only on mobile, and we are in touch via Orkut (now extinct) Facebook or Whatsapp. I remember an SMS which said "At that time friends used to say "Let's meet and plan something" ...but now it is like " Let's plan and meet some day".

Everyone is busy with their own life, career, future etc and therefore have no time for friends, we all follow the simple yet complex saying about life "Compromise and sacrifice makes life". Every day we compromise with our routine job and many other things and sacrifice our golden time of life without friends.

 "Friends are like pee. Everyone can see it but you are the only one that can feel it!
